How to store leftover pumpkin purée
Remove the remaining pumpkin from the can with a spatula and transfer to a small jar with a lid or to another airtight container. It will stay fresh in the fridge for up to a week.
Yes, you can freeze pumpkin purée
For longer storage, freeze it. Again, store it in a small airtight container, label it with the date and freeze for up to 3 months. I like to use ½ cup Mason jars so I can thaw it in the microwave when I want to bake with it again. You can also spoon it into a small resealable bag, flatten it, remove the air and freeze it. Small amounts can be frozen in ice cube trays.
