This Strawberry Chia Smoothie Bowl is a healthy way to start your day. Add sliced fruit and nuts for some extra crunch.
Drinking my breakfast is fine when I’m on the go, but sometimes it’s nice to have something other than a smoothie. But if I resort to having a frittata or granola instead, I find myself missing my morning breakfast-in-a-glass. Some mornings are just meant for lingering over the first meal of the day. A smoothie bowl like this Chia Seed Banana Breakfast Bowl or this fabulous Mocha Almond Smoothie Bowl or today’s Strawberry Chia Smoothie Bowl lets me do just that.
I can have the best of both worlds: a smoothie, and something to sit down and enjoy with a spoon.
This Strawberry Chia Smoothie Bowl is quick and easy for busy mornings.
It’s fresh and sweet, creamy and crunchy all in one spoonful! It keeps me feeling full for hours.
Use the milk of your choice. I usually choose almond milk because it pairs well with the flaked almonds on top. The chia seeds will thicken the smoothie, especially if you make it the night before.
Blend all ingredients, pour into a bowl, then let your creativity flow! Garnish however you like with fresh fruit, nuts, hemp hearts, or even chocolate!
Update: When I made this the first time and took the photos, I added Raw Cacao Nibs as a garnish because, well, what goes better with strawberries than chocolate? However, we found their texture to be a little annoying in a smoothie bowl, so now I substitute a sprinkle of Hemp Hearts
or other sliced fruit, like bananas. But try the cocoa nibs if you aren’t as texture-conscious as we are. They have even more anti-oxidants than dark chocolate.
Start your day on a fresh, healthy note with a commitment to eat “clean.”
