This is a reliable recipe that can be easily adapted to include your favourite nuts, dried fruits and spices. Perfect for morning coffee time!

You will make a dough with: - butter - sugar - eggs - vanilla - all-purpose flour - baking powder - salt - pecans - dried cranberries - lemon zest

Divide the dough in half and form into two logs. Brush with an egg wash.

Bake the logs for 35 mins then let them cool. With a sharp knife, slice the logs into ½ inch slices on a slight diagonal.

Bake again for 30 minutes. Cookies will be slightly soft in the center but will harden as they cool.

Stand the slices upright on the baking sheet, spaced slightly apart.

Once cool, drizzle with lemon glaze. These make perfect gifts!
