2cupswater or milk (cow's milk or plant-based milk)
Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add oats and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until oatmeal is thick and creamy. Remove from heat. Sweeten with maple syrup, honey, sugar or 0-calorie sweetener to taste. Add berries, sliced bananas or other fruit, and/ or nuts and seeds if you'd like.
