    🛒 Ingredients

    For the Brownies

    • coconut oil or butter, melted
    • maple syrup: pure
    • Amaretto or other almond liqueur
    • eggs
    • finely ground blanched almond flour
    • cocoa or cacao powder
    • baking soda
    • sea salt
    • finely ground hazelnuts or walnuts
    • chocolate chips: dairy-free, semi-sweet

    For the Chocolate Ganache

    • semi-sweet chocolate
    • heavy cream
    • Amaretto or other almond liqueur

    🥄 Instructions

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
    2. Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper or grease very thoroughly.
    3. In a large bowl, whisk together the coconut oil or butter, maple syrup and Amaretto. Add the eggs and beat well.
    4. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa or cacao powder, very finely chopped hazelnuts, baking soda and salt.
    5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix. The batter will be very thick. Fold in the chocolate chips.
    6. Spread the batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 22 - 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean. It's better to undertake a little to prevent the brownies from becoming dry, so check at 22 minutes.
    7. Meanwhile, prepare the ganache. Coarsely chop the chocolate and put it in a small bowl. Heat the cream just until boiling, then pour over the chocolate. Let stand for 10 minutes without stirring to prevent it from becoming grainy. Then whisk it together until smooth and shiny and well incorporated.
    Chocolate Ganache for Grain-free Brownies

Once the brownies are completely cool, spread the ganache over top and gently spread it to the edges. Create lines or a design in the ganache with a decorator's comb if you'd like.

Chill in the refrigerator to set completely before slicing into squares. These brownies are even better the second day as they become moister.

Slice into 8 large bars or 16 squares when completely cool.

🥶How to store or freeze grain-free brownies

Store these grain-free brownies in an airtight container. To freeze, chill completely then wrap in plastic wrap and freeze in an airtight container. I like to wrap them individually for a quick snack or dessert. Thaw them at room temperature or in the refrigerator overnight.

Umm yes please! I'll take one! Sounds so flavourful! I've made similar brownies but haven't added the bonus liqueur in it. Perfect adult treat!

Thanks Gabby! You could probably use other liqueurs as well, but I found the Amaretto went nicely with the almond flour and hazelnuts in this recipe.
