Blackberry Balsamic Dressing:  a delicious versatile dressing made with rich, syrupy balsamic vinegar and sweet blackberries with a touch of tamari soy sauce. Use fresh or frozen blackberries. Keto, Paleo and Vegan.

This Keto Blackberry Balsamic Dressing is bound to become one of your go-to recipes once you try it!

It's a rich, tangy dressing that will perk up any salad. A touch of tamari soy sauce (or coconut aminos) increases the depth of flavour. This dressing is definitely one you won't forget. And it's suitable for keto,  paleo and vegan diets, too.

This Blackberry Balsamic Dressing is great on salads or grilled meats, drizzled on goat cheese, or even ice cream. It's easy to make in a blender. No cooking required!

While I like to make it with fresh-picked wild blackberries, you can easily use store-bought berries or frozen blackberries to make this simple blackberry vinaigrette.

Try it on this Blackberry Balsamic Grilled Chicken Salad first, then you'll likely be pouring it on everything! It's delicious on any green salad, but don't stop there! This dressing makes a terrific topping for crostini appetizers, too.

    Try these variations!

This Blackberry Balsamic Vinaigrette isn't only for salads!

Add a smear of whipped goat cheese to a slice of toasted baguette. Top with a dollop of blackberry balsamic dip, sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves and serve. It's a little sweet, a little salty and it's absolutely delicious!

Drizzle it on grilled chicken as in this Blackberry Balsamic Grilled Chicken Salad

Like your dressings spicier?  Add a little heat! Try adding ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper or dried red pepper flakes to this blackberry balsamic dressing recipe for a little flavour kick.

If you'd like this dressing a little thinner, add a few tablespoons of water, one at a time until you get the consistency you prefer.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup blackberries
    • 2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
    • 2 teaspoon tamari or soy sauce or coconut aminos
    • 1 tablespoon sweetener Monkfruit with erythritol, or sugar, or honey, or agave
    • 2 tablespoon olive oil, extra virgin
    • ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
    • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

    Instructions

    • Wash blackberries. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.

    Notes

I've found that imported blackberries produce a dressing that is deep red in colour, while local wild blackberries turn the dressing a deep violet colour. Both are beautiful and both are delicious!
