If you've ever taken Oil of Oregano to fight off a cold, you know two things:

    1. it tastes awful
    2. it works.

Make it more fun with this Oil of Oregano Wellness Shooter! It's made with lemon and honey (remember when your mom gave you that when you were little?) along with fresh ginger and cayenne, all ingredients that are touted to help fight off the common cold.

This little shooter glass full of immune-boosters is much more fun to drink than taking those foul-tasting drops! While you can still taste a little of the oregano flavour at the end, finishing it off with an apple slice cleanses your palate and gives you a little extra Vitamin C.

Hi Sara, Yes--fresh ginger would be better for you, but ground ginger still has many health benefits! Hope you're feeling better soon!

My 18 year old daughter is at university and felt a cold coming on. She told me about an immune booster drink at a fresh pressed juice bar that does wonders and that all the kids in residence buy to ward off colds. My husband has a cold so he decided to try one of those immune booster drinks. He came back with a little bottle that he paid $5 for. I was aghast at the price and googled your recipe - made it for pennies with ingredients from my kitchen. Hubby said the only difference was that this one is thicker and not as spicy as I used turmeric instead of cayenne. So, thank you for this recipe. Now, I just have to get my daughter to make it from scratch rather than shelling out $5/day!!
And hubby says it tastes just as yucky thanks to the oil of oregano!!

I felt a cold coming on this weekend and wanted to take oil of oregano but it DOES taste AWFUL. I remembered your recipe for this wellness shot. It was AWESOME. We didn't have a fresh lemon so I used some orange and lime along with bottled lemon juice. Thank you so much!

My mom has told me about oil of oregano a few times but I've never tried it myself. This shooter sounds like a fantastic way to take it!
