Gluten-Free Apple Crumble Breakfast Parfait in a hinged jar with layers of apples, granola and yogurt

This gluten-free Apple Crumble Breakfast Parfait is ideal for busy workday mornings.  Starting the day with a healthy wholesome breakfast provides that power we all need to make it through . . . to lunch!

Making easy breakfasts like this one or Overnight Oats the night before was always a lifesaver when I was teaching and found myself rushing out the door to get my classroom ready for the little people who would soon be arriving.

    Granola makes breakfast so easy!

A breakfast of layered caramelized apples, crunchy Apple Cinnamon Granola and creamy yogurt almost seems like an apple crisp, but with only a bit of added sweetener, this breakfast parfait is guilt-free.

Granola, yogurt and fruit. That's often what we make for breakfast when we're in a hurry. It's also a perfect meal for camping! It's just so handy. No cooking required, I always have a batch of granola on hand, and fruit and yogurt are easy to pack.

This gluten-free Apple Crumble Breakfast Parfait will be tucked away in the tiny fridge on our boat this weekend when we head out to enjoy the last few sunny days of the month.

Ready to make a healthy apple crumble breakfast parfait? Here's what you'll need.

    🛒 Ingredients

    • 1 apple, cored and chopped (peeling is optional)
    • butter or oil
    • coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
    • apple cinnamon granola
    • plain Greek yogurt (or coconut yogurt for vegan or dairy-free diets)

    🔪Instructions

How to make Apple Crumble Breakfast Parfait

    • Heat a small skillet and add butter or oil.
    • Saute chopped apple pieces for 2 - 3 minutes.
    • Add sugar and stir to coat. Remove from heat and cool.
    • Layer ingredients in jar or glass. Begin with a layer of apples to completely cover the bottom of the jar, then add half the granola, the yogurt, another layer of apples and finish with more granola on top.

    Possible Variations

I have several granola recipes here on the blog, but at this time of year, Apple Cinnamon Granola is my favourite. You can make it totally gluten-free by using certified gluten-free oats, if necessary.

You can also make this breakfast parfait vegan or dairy-free by substituting coconut yogurt for the Greek yogurt.

    Make ahead and storage tips

Make this healthy Apple Crumble Breakfast Parfait today and have tomorrow's breakfast ready in the fridge! Store in a jar or dessert glass, cover and refrigerate. This parfait will stay crisp overnight.

      Hi Elaine,
Is there a recipe for the granola.? if possible I would love one that is sugar free .? If not whatever one you have would be good. Love your recipes so much and this one will be great for me as I am on a very strict GF diet no Oats. That's a tuff one because the best granola is made with oats. I may try the GF Oats even though they said not to because of cross comination.

      Thank you

        Hi Patti,
You might like this Grain-Free Nutty Granola. https://www.flavourandsavour.com/grain-free-nutty-granola/ It's sweetened with maple syrup, but you can reduce the amount if you like.
