Love Cajun flavours? Here are simple instructions for how to make Cajun Seasoning Mix. If you love dishes like Jambalaya, Gumbo, Po’Boy sandwiches or my Easy Cajun Shrimp Fried Rice, mix up a batch of this Cajun spice blend to have on hand. Of course, you can buy it pre-made, but it’s so easy to make your own, and you can adjust the spices to make it milder, according to your family’s tastes.
Just combine in a small bowl then store in an airtight jar. This recipe makes almost 1/4 cup of spice mix for all your Cajun recipes. It’s fabulous as a rub for salmon, too. Just pat the fillet dry, rub with the Cajun Seasoning Mix, let stand for an hour or so, then grill or bake. Try it on chicken, too. Mix the seasoning with a little oil, marinate the chicken, then place on a greased grill. It’s also excellent on shrimp!
