A sheet pan meal of hoisin chicken, sweet potatoes, oranges and cranberries.

This Hoisin Orange Sheet Pan Chicken dinner is a winner! It features tender chicken marinated in an Asian-inspired sauce with nutrient-rich sweet potatoes. Best of all, it's all roasted in one pan with fresh oranges and cranberries. Delicious!

❤️ Why you'll love this Hoisin Orange Sheet Pan Chicken

    • Easy to prepare: Marinate the chicken, chop some sweet potatoes, slice some oranges, and arrange them on a sheet pan. Scatter a handful or two of fresh or frozen cranberries on the pan during the last five minutes of roasting.
    • It has a sweet and salty flavor balance. Fresh oranges add a natural sweetness that balances the salty hoisin sauce. The marinade makes tasty chicken with nicely browned, crispy skin.
    • One pan! All cooked on one sheet pan. Easy clean-up!

I had planned to make my Hoisin Orange Glazed Chicken Thighs today, but I suddenly realized I could reduce my meal prep time by cooking everything together. That favorite recipe got a quick makeover and resulted in this Hoisin Orange Sheet Pan Chicken instead.

    👍🏼 Top Tips

Roasted sweet potatoes add flavor and nutrition to this chicken sheet pan dinner!

Roasting vegetables draws out their natural sweetness making them extra tasty, but it also preserves their nutrients. Oven roasting is a favorite way to prepare sweet potatoes.

Adding fresh orange slices and cranberries makes this hoisin orange sheet pan chicken even more flavourful. Caramelized oranges and pop-in-your-mouth tart cranberries added extra interest to this already robustly flavored dinner.

🕑 An easy meal to prep ahead of time

For those times when you know you'll be busy the following day, prepare this meal ahead of time.

    • Chop the vegetables the day before and store them in a resealable bag or another airtight container. in the fridge.
    • Combine the sauce ingredients ahead of time and store the sauce in a jar or other airtight container in the fridge.

Roasting time will depend on the type of sheet pan you use. I used an aluminum half sheet for this recipe. Stoneware sheet pans often take less time.

What is the green garnish? Chives or string beans?

Hi Kristina, I garnished this with green onions (scallions) cut on the diagonal. I'll add that into the recipe as a suggestion. Thanks for your question!
